SPACES AND EXCHANGES & IDEA OF PROGRESS :
SEQUENCE 2 : FROM THE MAYFLOWER TO THE BORDER FENCE
(Séance 6) EXPLORING THE FIRST THANKSGIVING
( DOC 3) THANKSGIVING : (CE / EO / EOI )
For today's class you were supposed to go online for
an Info Search . You were expected to visit a Website
to find information about the first settlers' arrival in America
and Plymouth Rock.
Here's the link to the Website! Click on the Pilgrim!
So first things first today, I had you share your findings and
we tried to answer some key questions about the first immigrants:
- Who were they ? What were they called and why ?
- Where did they come from ? When did they leave?
- Why did they emigrate ?
- What is Plymouth Rock ?
Then in order to thank you for your hard work,
I had you complete a CLOZE TEST in pairs
about the First Thanksgiving . You were asked to focus on Time markers
and linkwords as well as on the Thanksgiving-related vocabulary,
to help you study the chronology of events.
Then you were asked to use the information collected in class
to fill in a Thanksgiving Crossword Puzzle .
You may have a hard time, but what a fun
way to memorize useful vocabulary and
historical information !
Click on the Pilgrim to view the Crossword Grid
I gave you today.
I hope you have learnt something new today !
